Emma grew up in London in a family of girls. They escaped to the countryside often (in an old Morris with moss growing on the windows). Free to wander
she fell in love with nature and has been drawing it ever since.
Emma studied fine art at Central School of Art
& Design, after which she followed a number of career paths, working for a range of arts organisations including the Hayward Gallery, National Theatre, and Riverside Studios.
During this time Emma picked up a certificate in scaffolding and lost her sense of smell falling off a bus.
More recently Emma built the Bluecoat’s print
studios ('non-toxic' intaglio and screen printing), which she runs.
She
teaches and makes work from her
home in Liverpool, UK.
